Jan and Ian Hedley started Hedweld almost 40 years ago and it has grown to become a successful family business exporting its products to 34 countries and employing 80 staff in the Hunter Valley, Mackay and USA.
As of July 1, 2019 Ian has begun transitioning from the day-to-day Managing Director’s role into semi-retirement. He remains the sole shareholder, and an active board member now looking forward to having the time to focus on his passion for innovation, working more closely with the R&D and Engineering team.
Hedweld are proud to announce that Kristy Hedley has been appointed Managing Director of Hedweld.
Jan and Ian’s eldest daughter Kristy (pictured front row centre) has been involved with the business her entire life. Kristy graduated from Newcastle University with a Bachelor of Business in 2011 and as a company director has been heavily involved with Board responsibilities and decision making for several years now. Hedweld are confident that Kristy will successfully lead this second-generation business. Supporting her is Hedweld’s new executive team: Chris Eccleston – Global Operations Manager, Andrew McIntosh – Financial Controller and Garth Burns – Global Products Manager.
The whole team is looking forward to the future and continuing to grow Hedweld’s position at the forefront of innovation and advanced manufacturing.
