In October 2016, Hedweld’s agricultural brand Milbrotec® were award the HMA Excellence in Innovation Award for the Flood Post.
We were particularly proud of this achievement as it was the first agricultural product commercialised under the new division. The awards dinner was themed Past, Present and Future and was attended by Hedweld staff and families.
The unique Flood Post is ideal for creek crossings, causeways, river beds, tidal waters and flood plains. During wet weather events, when the water level rises, the Flood Post float, holding the wires above the water line and allowing debris to pass under.
The Flood Post are partially filled with water for ballast. Each fencing wire is passed through evenly located metal eyelets. The posts are dug in and positioned. During wet weather events there is minimal pressure from the rushing water on the Flood Fence System and therefore compared to traditional fencing the wires don’t snap and the fence line stays intact.
When the water level recedes so do the posts maintaining a livestock proof fence. The rounded design means they will cause no harm to livestock. To re-position the posts are simply and quickly dug back into place.
Now distributed through and branded Waratah® Flood Posts are available through sales outlets including but not limited to Farmers Warehouse, CRT and Landmark in Australia and New Zealand.
