Role and Responsibilities – Summary

Assembles, installs, commissions, repairs and maintains vehicle, plant, machinery, mechanical equipment and products such as to meet production requirements and with the key objective being to achieve goals and objectives of the Hedweld Group Strategic Business Plan.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Cost effectively performs general assembly, installation, repair and maintenance of Hedweld product in a timely manner both in house and on-site.
  • Initiates purchase order(s) for parts and machines, through liaisons with supervisor & purchasing personnel, to successfully complete Repairs, Overhauls and Services
  • Carry out troubleshooting and confer with supervisor to determine malfunction and required repairs
  • Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems and determine malfunction and required repairs
  • Seek advice and/or directions from supervisor or management when required
  • Inspect work in progress and finished products to ensure products are of appropriate quality and conform to engineering principles, company standards, customer requirements and related specifications
  • Install, maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic systems
  • Carry out low voltage electrical installations and maintenance
  • Be proactive in advising management of issues affecting this position
  • Adheres to company policies and follows safe working procedures and practices
  • Uphold the organization’s commitment to Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Assists in achieving ongoing improvements to organizational safety, communication and morale.
  • Oversee appointed apprentice(s), ensuring their daily duties and learning requirements are met.

Role and Responsibilities – Summary

Installs, Maintains & Repairs electrical systems, circuits, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery, equipment & products, with the key objective being to achieve goals and objectives of the Hedweld Group Strategic business plan.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Installs power supply, wiring, electrical components, fittings and conduit for plant, machines and equipment.
  • Connects/Disconnects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
  • Tests & fault find malfunctioning machinery and liaise with management, operators & maintenance personnel, to diagnose malfunction.
  • Repairs & Replaces faulty electrical components for Plant, Machinery & Products.
  • Manufactures, diagnoses, repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as harnesses & printed circuit boards.
  • Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors.
  • Conducts high & low voltage electrical works.
  • Plans layout of, and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in Plant, Machinery & Products.
  • Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Analyzes work orders and blueprints to determine information such as material to be used, type of operations, and sequence of operations required.
  • Inspects work site to determine presence of obstructions or dangers and to avoid interfering with personal safety or activities of other workers.
  • Visually inspects and listens to machines and equipment in operation to fault find and locate causes of malfunctions.
  • Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts.
  • Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
  • Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Reassembles parts.
  • Paints machines or equipment when required.
  • Starts machines and equipment to test operation following repair.
  • Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
  • Cost effectively performs general installation, assembly, repair and modifications to fluid power systems in a timely manner.
  • Investigates warranty issues and reports all warranty issues to management.
  • Compile reports and paperwork for all jobs.
  • Be proactive in advising management of issues affecting this position.
  • Take responsibility for managing customer records and liaise with customer services to ensure a smooth ordering/delivery process.
  • Reacting to and following up on North American spare parts enquiries.
  • Formulate quotations for North American clients.
  • Monitor and distribute emails from enquiries inbox.
  • Maintain Pronto file storage process.
  • Preparing manuals for product dispatch.
  • Prepare deposits for banking.
  • Photocopying, filing, archiving and other general administrative tasks as required.
  • Check facility consumable stock regularly and purchase items as needed.
  • Travel daily to complete errands.
  • Collect, sort and scan all received mail to be filled accordingly.

Role and Responsibilities – Summary

Planning and execution of the day to day activities in relation to manufacturing, fabrication, machining of components, repairs & assembles products, with the key objective being to achieve goals and objectives of the Hedweld Group Strategic Business Plan.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Human Resources

  • Maintain a positive team atmosphere and establish a good working relationship with all other staff members.
  • Liaise with supervisor(s) and staff to ensure tasks are completed within cost, on time and to acceptable standard.
  • Participate in any further education and upgrading of skills required for oneself and other team members through any courses that relate to your/their responsibilities.
  • Actively participate in any team meetings relating to the operation and produce accurate information pertaining to the meeting.

Production

  • Analyses work orders and blueprints to determine information such as material to be used, type of operations, and sequence of operations required.
  • Determines requirements for jigs, equipment, and material.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Cost effectively performs general fabrication, machining, assembly and repair work in a timely manner.
  • Ensures all work performed is to specification.
  • Comply with company business system requirements such as Safety, Quality, Business management systems (i.e. PRONTO), schedules and production documentation.

Hedweld Group of Companies  are  Australian-owned companies which has been established since 1980 with the drive to be the leading provider of access systems and maintenance support products for heavy earthmoving equipment, by achieving total customer satisfaction in providing the latest technology to bring about continual improvement in safety and efficiency.

A role has recently become available in our Mecensol business for a Mechanical Draftsperson who can prepare clear, complete and accurate working plans and detail drawings from rough or detailed sketches, specifications, models or verbal instructions. Involved in projects including, infrastructure development along with research and development projects. This position is based at our Head office at Mount Thorley, in the Hunter Valley.

The positions main duties and responsibilities are:

  • Analyses product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs which can be produced by existing manufacturing facilities and methods.
  • Using computer aided drawing programs including AutoCAD and Inventor to design proposed drawing, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project.
  • Utilises knowledge of various products, machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
  • Liaises with customers and suppliers
  • Prepares product or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics
  • Assists with apprentice training
  • Undertakes additional training when necessary, to ensure familiarisation with advancements in software and technology
  • Check’s engineering drawings and ensures they  are of appropriate quality and conform to engineering principles, drawing standards, customer requirements and related specifications before being released for approval and construction
  • Develop and research and development projects
  • Manage site infrastructure upgrades when required, including the development of floor plans and work flow scenarios

To qualify for this position the applicant is required to have 2-3 years’ experience with in a Mechanical Drafting position within the Heavy Mechanical Manufacturing industry, have a certificate and/or Diploma in Manufacturing Technology and/or Engineering Drafting, while also having experience using Auto CAD and Desk Inventor.
