ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Receive goods, items into store via computer management system.
  • Examines received goods, items to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Compares information on requests, invoices, and shipping notices to material received or issued to verify accuracy of orders.
  • Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Marks identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles or items.
  • Determines methods of storage, identification, and stock location, considering temperature, humidity, height and weight limits, turnover, floor loading capacities, and required space.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, color, or product code.
  • Reads customer order, work order, shipping order, picking slip, or requisition to determine items to be gathered, or distributed.
  • Prints picking slips.
  • Fills requisitions, work orders, picking slips, customer orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items.
  • Suitably packs products for shipping or other transport.
  • Prepares parcels for transport.
  • Performs a final check on goods to ensure goods and paperwork are correct prior to dispatch.
  • Transports raw materials and semi-finished products or supplies between departments or buildings.
  • Operates forklift truck to transport materials within plant.
  • Assists or performs physical stock take counts.
  • Keeps back order file in established sequence and releases back orders for issue or shipment as stock becomes available.
  • Verifies stock control records against physical count of stock.
  • Records amounts of materials or items received and distributed.
  • Uses computer to enter records.
  • Uses bar coding system to issue and receive stock.
  • Upholds the organization’s commitment to Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Assists in achieving ongoing improvements to organizational safety, communication and morale.
  • Adheres to company policies and undertakes safe working practices and procedures.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • 2-3 years’ experience in warehousing/stores
  • Current fork lift license
  • Current drivers license
  • Well-rounded communication style, with ability to build strong working relationships
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Preferred Requirements
  • Pronto Experience
