Hedweld Group of Companies is a proud family owned and world renowned regional Australian innovator and manufacturer. Although Hedweld in known for producing world leading products for the mining sector globally for 40 years, Hedweld also operates a cattle farm located at Milbrodale, NSW. This farm is also used for undertaking and managing R&D activities developed by Hedweld’s agricultural division, Milbrotec.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Farm Overseer to join our team and reside on the farm. Reporting to the Farm Manager, this permanent full-time role will be involved in key operational and maintenance aspects of the farming systems.

We are looking for someone to work efficiently, without supervision, and as part of a team, with a high level of motivation, willingness to learn and adopt new modern practices with good communication skills, both verbal and written.

The successful applicant will be suitably experienced, physically fit, able to undertake manual work, enjoy being outdoors, and work independently with a mechanical aptitude.

Skills required:

  • Livestock experience and handling
  • Animal husbandry
  • Experienced tractor driver involving cropping practices
  • Experience with farm plant and equipment
  • Maintain & repair farm buildings, fences, troughs and other equipment
  • Paddock and pasture maintenance
  • Handyman work
  • Groundskeeping
  • General farming duties
  • Must be able to integrate with existing team and follow directions accurately
  • Assist in the keeping of accurate and up to date records, both electronic and written
  • Take responsibility in Farm Managers absence

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with operating earthmoving machinery (including dozers, excavators, scrapers, graders etc)

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Spare Parts Interpreter and Internal Sales Administrator to join our team based at Mount Thorley. Reporting to the Global Products Manager, this permanent full-time role will be responsible for the execution of the end to end sales, customer support and administration process for Hedweld equipment spare parts. This position will service new and existing customers by answering technical enquiries, interpreting parts and making sales via phone or email. While Spare Parts will be the primary focus, assistance in other areas of sales administration or special projects may be required from time to time.

We are looking for someone to work efficiently as part of our team, with a high level of motivation, willingness to learn and adopt new modern practices with good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • 3 Years previous experience in Internal Sales and Spare Part Interpreter position
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Microsoft Office Suite – Intermediate
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Effective time management
  • Current Driver’s license

Preferred Requirements

  • PRONTO Experience
  • Current Forklift License

Hedweld are seeking a full time Mechanical Fitter (with Hydraulic experience) for a permanent opportunity, based at our Mount Thorley site.

This position is responsible for assembly, repairs and maintenance of machinery and mechanical equipment such as ladders, motors, pneumatics, hydraulics,  electrical parts, production machines and equipment.

Responsibilities include;

  • Assemble, Maintain & Repair Hedweld products
  • Ensure quality assurance is to company standard
  • Adhere to quality procedures

  • Ensures jobs are on time and on budget

Successful Applicant must have:

  • Trade Qualification (Fitter/Mechanical)
  • Similar experience (preferably with Hydraulics experience)
  • A strong focus and high regard towards safety in the workplace

  • The ability to be flexible and work as part of a team to achieve shared goals
  • Microsoft Suite – Basic (Word/EXCEL/Outlook)

Role and Responsibilities – Summary

Installs, Maintains & Repairs electrical systems, circuits, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery, equipment & products, with the key objective being to achieve goals and objectives of the Hedweld Group Strategic business plan.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Human Resources

  • Maintains a positive team atmosphere by establishing a good working relationship with all other staff members.
  • Develops and maintains standard operational and work practices.
  • Ensures standard of operational working practices are high to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Analyses and resolve work problems within a team environment to achieve the common goal.
  • Assists management in monitoring quality of work, as required.
  • Actively participates in team meetings relating to the operation and produces accurate information pertaining to the meeting.
  • Participates in any further education and upgrading of skills required for oneself and other team members through any courses that relate to their/your responsibilities.
  • Supervise, monitor and assists with apprentices, apprentice training program(s) and PA’s.
  • Attends daily department toolbox/pre-start meetings.

Production – Product & Equipment

  • Installs, maintains and repairs Low Voltage & Extra Low Voltage wiring systems for product, plant, machinery and equipment.
  • Manufactures, diagnoses, repairs or replaces faulty electronic components such as wiring harnesses, printed circuit boards, small PLC’s and control panels.
  • Troubleshoots/diagnoses malfunctioning machinery or equipment and liaise with management, operators and maintenance personnel with information in relation to the failure.
  • Builds/constructs electrical components used in Hedweld’s product lines including but not limited to, wiring harnesses and electrical control panels.
  • Assists with diagnosing faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
  • Reviews electrical drawings and ensures they are of appropriate quality and conform to electrical principles, drawing standards, customer requirements and related specifications.
  • Liaises with department supervisors, management and sub-contractors to establish priorities and sequences for assembling finished products.
  • Ensures production and quality of products meets company specifications and customer requirements.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product and work efficiency.

Work Health & Safety (WH&S)

  • Upholds the organization’s commitment to Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Actively assists in achieving ongoing improvements to organizational safety, communication and morale.
  • Adheres to company policies and undertakes safe working practices and procedures.
  • Ensures the use of supplied PPE with oneself, team members, other employees, visitors and contractors.
  • Ensures compliance with state, federal and other government, legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Conducts risk assessments and assist in the compilation of S.O.P’s for Products and Equipment.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • NSW Electrical License
  • Ability to read electrical schematics/drawings
  • Ability to work both in a team environment and autonomously
  • Current driver’s license & own transport

  • Nationally Accredited Working at Heights & Confined Space
  • Construction White Card
  • HRW Forklift License
  • HRW EWP Ticket (if not HRW then yellow card < 11m)
