ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Human Resources

  • Maintain a positive team atmosphere and establish a good working relationship with all other staff members.
  • Liaise with management and staff to ensure tasks are completed within cost, on time and to acceptable standard.
  • Participate in any further education and upgrading of skills required for oneself and other team members through any courses that relate to your/their responsibilities
  • Actively participate in any team meetings relating to the operation and produce accurate information pertaining to the meeting
  • Liaises with customers and suppliers
  • Assists with Apprentice/Trainee training

Engineering

  • Analyses product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs which can be produced by existing manufacturing facilities and methods.
  • Uses computer assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and software to design proposed drawing, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project.
  • Utilises knowledge of various products, machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
  • Liaises with customers and suppliers
  • Prepares product and/or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics
  • Check’s engineering drawings and ensures they are of appropriate quality and conform to engineering principles, drawing standards, customer requirements and related specifications before being released for approval and construction
  • Develop and research and development projects
  • Manage site infrastructure upgrades when required, including the development of floor plans and work flow scenarios

Work Health & Safety (WH&S)

  • Upholds the organisation’s commitment to Occupational Health and Safety
  • Assists in achieving ongoing improvements to organisational safety, communication and morale
  • Adheres to company policies and undertakes safe working practices and procedures

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Trade and or Qualification in Drafting
  • Microsoft Office Suit – Advanced
  • Specific software capabilities for Drafting – Auto Cad, Auto Desk Inventor, etc.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Drafting/Engineering
  • Current Driver’s License
  • Ability to work in both a team environment and autonomously
  • Demonstrate excellent people management and communication skills

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience in producing and cataloguing procedures and technical support documentation ideally within a heavy mechanical environment
  • Well-developed IT and associated software experience would be a given.

Role and Responsibilities – Summary

Planning and execution of the day to day activities in relation to manufacturing, fabrication, machining of components, repairs & assembles products, with the key objective being to achieve goals and objectives of the Hedweld Group Strategic Business Plan.

  • Participate in any further education and upgrading of skills required for oneself and other team members through any courses that relate to your/their responsibilities
  • Actively participate in any team meetings relating to the operation and produce accurate information pertaining to the meeting

Production

  • Analyses work orders and blueprints to determine information such as material to be used, type of operations, and sequence of operations required.
  • Determines requirements for jigs, equipment, and material.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Cost effectively performs general fabrication, machining, assembly and repair work in a timely manner.
  • Ensures all work performed is to specification.
  • Comply with company business system requirements such as Safety, Quality, Business management systems (i.e. PRONTO), schedules and production documentation.
  • Pro-active in advising management of issues affecting this position.
  • Effectively liaise with other staff to ensure all related operations functions smoothly.
  • Ensures housekeeping is of a high standard.
  • Keeps tools and machinery effectively maintained.
  • Be responsible for the security of tools and equipment associated with the function.

WHS&E

  • Follows safe working procedures and practices to ensure compliance with safe working procedures and practices and company policies and standards.
  • Upholds the organization’s commitment to Occupational Health and Safety.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Trade qualified
  • Brake & Pan Brake press operation experience (CNC)
  • MIG & TIG welding experience
  • Sheet metal forming & fabrication in Mild steel, Stainless steel and Aluminum (Preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Computer literate – Intermediate
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Able to work effectively both as part of a team or autonomously
  • A current driver’s license

Preferred Requirements

  • Forklift License
  • Overhead Crane Competency

Role and Responsibilities – Summary

Installs repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment, such as Access Systems, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems & ELV electrical systems, production machines and equipment with the key objective being to achieve the goals and objectives of the Hedweld Group Strategic business plan.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Human Resources

  • Maintain a positive team atmosphere and establish a good working relationship with all other staff members.

Production

  • Analyses work orders and blueprints to determine information such as material to be used, type of operations, and sequence of operations required.
  • Inspects work site to determine presence of obstructions or dangers and to avoid interfering with personal safety or activities of other workers.
  • Visually inspects and listens to machines and equipment in operation to locate causes of malfunctions.
  • Discusses equipment malfunctions with customers to isolate problems.
  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts or equipment.
  • Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.
  • Inspects parts to determine salvage ability or method of repairing or reworking parts.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts.
  • Lubricates and cleans parts.
  • Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Reassembles parts.
  • Paints machines or equipment when required.
  • Directs cleaning, storing, and issuing of reclaimed parts.
  • Starts machines and equipment to test operation following repair.
  • Maintains records of repairs and tests.
  • Prepares mechanical condition reports and estimates repair times.
  • Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
  • Repairs low voltage electrical equipment.
  • Adheres to the companies quality management system.
  • Cost effectively performs general installation, repair and modifications to fluid power systems in a timely manner.
  • Analyses and resolves any issues with fluid power systems and recommends solutions.
  • Ensures company vehicles are regularly serviced, registered and maintained.
  • Perform onsite commissioning work.
  • Investigates warranty issues and resolves in the best interest of the customer and supplier.

  • Excellent communication skills
  • A current driver’s license
